Wilbur T. Pruitt, 70, of 386 Catherine Street, Lebanon, died at 3pm Saturday June 13, 1981 at Breech Medical Center. He is survived by 3 sons, Wilmer, of Florida, Danny of Lebanon,Garry of Roswell, NM; 2 daughters Pat Henderson of Lebanon,and Hazel of Roswell,NM; one brother, Clifford of Richland; one sister Lillian Osborn of Lebanon; and seven grandchildren. Services will be at 2pm Tuesday at Holman Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Osborn officiating. Burial will be at Mount Rose Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 7-8:30 pm tonight at the funeral home.

Kermit "Buster" Pruitt, son of Kermit Leo and Ferba Arther Pruitt, was born July 10, 1946, in Los Angeles, California. He departed this life Tuesday, May 8, 2007, in St. John's Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty years, nine months, and twenty-eight days.
On August 16, 1969, he was united in marriage to Ina Pauline Wilson, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
His parents preceded him in death.
"Buster", as he was called by his family and friends, is survived by his wife, Pauline, of the home; a daughter, Tonya Williams, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Travis Pruitt, and his wife, Stacie, of Lebanon, Missouri; three grandchildren, Elizabeth and Timmy Pruitt, and Cody Williams; a sister, Sue Ann Ballard, and her husband, O.C., of Crestview, Florida; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born in California, but lived most of his life in the Lebanon and Camdenton, Missouri areas. He and Pauline were married in 1969, and lovingly raised their family. Buster worked in automobile body repair and painting throughout his life, and had been affiliated with several car dealerships in this area.
Buster had made his profession of belief in Christ and followed the Baptist faith.
In his spare time he liked anything that had to do with cars, including building stock cars, going to car shows, cruising around in old cars, especially his 1952 Chevy, and watching NASCAR races. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
Buster was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. His family and friends will hold tight to the memories he has made for them and will remember him always.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Crossroads Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.

Robert M. McShane 1891-1984
Robert M. McShane, son of Benjamin and Alice McClure McShane, was born October 23, 1891 in Laclede County, Missouri and departed this life on March 24, 1984 at his home in Stoutland. He had been in poor health for several years.
On November 12, 1912 he was united in marriage with Lula Hillhouse in what is now the Orville Stone home. To this union were born two daughters, both surviving. His wife preceded him in death September 28, 1955.
Rob, as he was known to friends, owned a café in Stoutland for several years and for 32 years he owned and operated the McShane Grocery in Stoutland where he made many friends.
He is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Bernice Dewitt, Livermore, Colorado and Mrs. Arlene Loose, Phrump, Nevada; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; also a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Roy L. McShane and David F. McShane.
Services were held Tuesday, March 27, 1984, 2:00 p.m. at Stoutland United Methodist Church.
Music was provided by Lloyd Jones, soloist and DeLores Shadel, accompanist.
Escorts were: Mack Clark, Durrell Goodwin, Steve Hoffman, Tunney Allee, Leon Builderback and Ray Roark.

Mr. Merlin E. Carlton, 79, who resided in Phoenix, Arizona, died September 5, 1984 in his home. Born in Stoutland, Missouri, he came to Arizona from Missouri 34 years ago. Mr. Carlton was a retired farmer and a member of the Gospel Echoes Church in Phoenix.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Carlton; daughter, Elaine Helm of Flagstaff, Arizona; two sons, Ernest Carlton of Dixon, Missouri and Merlin Carlton, Jr., of Lakeside, Arizona; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 7 in Gimshaw Bethany Chapel, 710 West Bethany Home Road, Phoenix, Arizona. Interment was private.

Jessie Mae (Phillips) Harrison was born in Laclede County July 22, 1896 and passed away September 3, 1984 in Santa Barbara, California. She was united in marriage to D.G. Harrison, June 14, 1916 and to this union three children were born: Joan, Betty, and Bob. D.G. passed away May 1, 1982.
She was preceded in death by her father Edward G. and her mother Martha B. (Wilson) Phillips, two sisters and three brothers.
She leaves three children, four nieces, and one nephew, six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
They spent their entire married life and raised their family in Joplin, Missouri.

Lebanon, Mo., December 26.--Mrs. G. N. Benton, a highly esteemed lady of Union Township, died at the family residence near Phillipsburg, yesterday. The funeral will take place tomorrow, and the remains be deposited in Lonesome Hill Cemetery.

Lebanon, Mo., October 25.--Joseph Smith, who has for twenty years been a resident of this city, and occupied the same lot on the same block, died at an early hour this morning. He was aged 67 years, a shoemaker, and has followed his trade since his first residence here. His wife, also at a ripe age, was prostrated Sunday morning and is not expected to recover.

Lebanon, Mo., July 19.--Mr. Francis Apperson--"Grandpa" Apperson, as he was familiarly called--passed peacefully away this morning, after an illness of nearly two months, aged 87 years. Mr. Apperson was born in Virginia, but sought his fortune in the West, settling in Southern Illinois in 1833. On the organization of Clay County he was elected County and Circuit Clerk, which office he held for two terms. He was Postmaster at Louisville, the present county seat of Clay County, under Buchanan. He was reappointed by Johnson, and held the position until after the inauguration of Grant.
In 1879 he removed to this place and has since resided here. In religion he was a Methodist, having been a member of that Church for more than sixty years. He was also a member of Center Lodge, A. F. and A. M., of this city, and the funeral will be conducted by that fraternity.

Mark J. Fischer, 55, of Kansas City, Mo., died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at his home from complications of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
He was born June 13, 1954, to Ewald and Margaret Fischer, who preceded him in death.
He attended attended high school in Tipton, Mo., and graduated from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg. He worked for Commerce Bank in Lebanon, Mo., prior to starting his own business, Fischer’s Greenhouse and Nursery.
He was employed with Rod’s Hallmark until his recent illness.
He is survived by a son, Travis Fischer, of the home; a daughter, Monica Carrier and her husband Joseph of Fayetteville, N.C.; a granddaughter, Kaylin Carrier; a brother, John; and three sisters, Diana Mertes of Springfield, Mo., Paulette McClure of Kansas City, Mo., and Prilly Lay of Kansas City, Mo.
A memorial service and celebration of life for Mark J. Fischer will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at the home of Paulette and Gary McClure of Parkville, Mo.

On Dec. 18, 1942, she married Charles Robert Mueller, who preceded her in death on July 31, 1993.

Ernest Naomi “Ernie’’ (Tucker) Blackwell, 90, of Kansas City, formerly of Richland, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at Lee’s Summit Medical Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Sondra Battaglia and her husband, Anthony, of Georgetown, Ky.; three grandchildren, Toni Conti and her husband, Phil, of Lee’s Summit, and Sam Battaglia and his wife, Tammy, and Joann Sullivan and her husband, Tom, all of Georgetown, Ky.; four great-granddaughters, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services for Ernest Naomi “Ernie’’ (Tucker) Blackwell will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at Memorial Chapel and Crematory of Richland. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery at Richland.
Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Franklin Clark Fonda 1934-2009
Franklin Clark Fonda, 75, of Long Lane, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at his home near Long Lane.
He was born Jan. 8, 1934, in Randall, N.Y. to Nathan L. and Matilda Edna (Clark) Fonda, who preceded him in death.
He also was preceded in death by a brother, James Fonda; and two sisters, Mona Young and Norma Hudson.
On July 7, 1957, he married Alice Chevalier.
He served in the U.S. Air Force, serving in Korea and Vietnam. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. Following his retirement he worked for the postal service as head of maintenance.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in 1964 and was a member of Bennett Spring Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Alice, of the home; two sons, Colin J. Fonda, of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Austin C. Fonda and his wife, Robin, of Lebanon; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Nathan Fonda, also other family members.
Services for Franklin Clark Fonda will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, in the Cantlon Otterness Funeral Chapel in Buffalo with Pastor T.J. Brown officiating.
Burial with military honors will be held in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sedalia, under the direction of Cantlon Otterness Funeral Home of Buffalo.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral chapel.

Louise (Wilson) Decker 1931-2009
Louise Decker, 77, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at St. John’s Hospital-Lebanon.
She was born Dec. 28, 1931, at Dry Knob, Mo., to Willie Benjamin Wilson and Mattie Enyart Wilson.
On July 26, 1958, she married Garry Ray Decker, Sr., who preceded her in death on April 7, 2009.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Margaret Fohn and Kim Lee Herod; a grandson, Anthony Fohn and two brothers, Floyd and Milburn Wilson.
She was a homemaker and attended Sunnyview Freewill Baptist Church and Chapel in the Woods.
Survivors include three sons, Garry Ray Decker, Jr., Brent Decker and his wife, Sabrena and Steven Decker, all of Lebanon; three daughters, Doris Jean Keen and husband, Bobby, of Sullivan; Paula Jones and husband, Sam, and Donna Hutsell and husband, Gary, all of Lebanon; two brothers, Wilburn Wilson and his wife, Leona, and Jimmy Wilson, all of Falcon; two sisters, Lucy Pierce, of Kansas City and Lillian Martell and her husband, Jack, of Lake Ozark; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services for Louise Decker will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Bro. Dean Davis and Bro. Gary Hutsell officiating.

Helen M. Gregory 1930-2009
Helen M. Gregory, 79, of Grovespring, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at St. John’s Hospital-Lebanon.
She was born April 4, 1930, at Grafton, Ill. to William Robert and Grace Chase Whitten, who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by five brothers, Otto, Otis, Frank, an infant brother, Glen Whitten, and one great-grandson, Logan Perry.
In 1952 she married Jason Mayhall.
On May 16, 1959, she married Ralph Gregory.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph; two sons, Jason Mayhall, of Lebanon and Bill Gregory and his wife, Angie, of Competition; three daughters, Bonnie Waterman and her husband, Don, of Tunas; Kelly Greeno and her husband, Phil, of Hot Springs, S.D. and Debbie Zeigenbein and her husband, Frank, of Richland; a brother, Jerome Whitten, of Rogue River, Ore.; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and other relatives.

She was born Dec. 12, 1921, at Competition, Mo. to Orr Daniel and Gracie L. Brown Daniel.
On July 17, 1935, she married Audie Simmons, who preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 1981.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Bonnie Vincent and her husband, Don; a sister, Francis in infancy; a brother, Dwight Daniel; three great-grandchildren and a dear friend, Malcolm Jones.
She was retired from H.D. Lee Company.
She was a member of Green Hills Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Garrie Simmons and his wife, Sandy, of Lebanon; nine grandchildren, Doneita Pappan and her husband, Russell, Debbie Lockwood and husband, John, Christy Stevens and husband, Dale, Deanna Gray and husband, Aaron, Terri Lynn DeGraffenreid, Danny Vincent and wife, Bonnie, Scot Simmons and wife, Lesa, Ron Smith and wife, Charlotte and Tim Smith; 17 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Dorrine Viola (Bearce) Koch, 88, of Parksville, Mo., formerly of Stoutland, died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at North Kansas City Hospital.
She was born March 26, 1921, at Hiatville, Kan. to Ralph E. and Cornelia (Pellett) Pearce.
On Sept. 24, 1939, she married John F. Koch.
She attended school in Stoutland.
She was a lifelong Methodist and was a charter member of the Platte Woods United Methodist Church where she was active in the Hope Circle quilting ministry.
She retired from food service with the Park Hill School District 25 years of service.
Survivors include her husband, John F. Koch; two daughters, Joyce M. Bishop, of Parkville and V. Jean Lorentz, of Columbus, Ga.; a son, John E. Koch, of Kansas City; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services for Dorrine Viola (Bearce) Koch were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at the Platte Woods United Methodist Church with the Revs. Steve Breon and Ginger Pudenz officiating.
Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Parkville, under the direction of the Meyers Funeral Chapel northland.
