Mark J. Fischer 1954-2009

Mark J. Fischer, 55, of Kansas City, Mo., died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at his home from complications of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

He was born June 13, 1954, to Ewald and Margaret Fischer, who preceded him in death.

He attended attended high school in Tipton, Mo., and graduated from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg. He worked for Commerce Bank in Lebanon, Mo., prior to starting his own business, Fischer’s Greenhouse and Nursery.

He was employed with Rod’s Hallmark until his recent illness.

He is survived by a son, Travis Fischer, of the home; a daughter, Monica Carrier and her husband Joseph of Fayetteville, N.C.; a granddaughter, Kaylin Carrier; a brother, John; and three sisters, Diana Mertes of Springfield, Mo., Paulette McClure of Kansas City, Mo., and Prilly Lay of Kansas City, Mo.

A memorial service and celebration of life for Mark J. Fischer will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at the home of Paulette and Gary McClure of Parkville, Mo.
