Margie G. Simmons, 87, of Lebanon, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at Christian Healthcare South.
She was born Dec. 12, 1921, at Competition, Mo. to Orr Daniel and Gracie L. Brown Daniel.
On July 17, 1935, she married Audie Simmons, who preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 1981.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Bonnie Vincent and her husband, Don; a sister, Francis in infancy; a brother, Dwight Daniel; three great-grandchildren and a dear friend, Malcolm Jones.
She was retired from H.D. Lee Company.
She was a member of Green Hills Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Garrie Simmons and his wife, Sandy, of Lebanon; nine grandchildren, Doneita Pappan and her husband, Russell, Debbie Lockwood and husband, John, Christy Stevens and husband, Dale, Deanna Gray and husband, Aaron, Terri Lynn DeGraffenreid, Danny Vincent and wife, Bonnie, Scot Simmons and wife, Lesa, Ron Smith and wife, Charlotte and Tim Smith; 17 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Services for Margie S. Simmons will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Gary Sheets officiating.
Burial will be in the McBride Cemetery, under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel.
Memorials have been established to the American Cancer Society or Gideon Bibles.
