Franklin Clark Fonda, 75, of Long Lane, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at his home near Long Lane.
He was born Jan. 8, 1934, in Randall, N.Y. to Nathan L. and Matilda Edna (Clark) Fonda, who preceded him in death.
He also was preceded in death by a brother, James Fonda; and two sisters, Mona Young and Norma Hudson.
On July 7, 1957, he married Alice Chevalier.
He served in the U.S. Air Force, serving in Korea and Vietnam. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. Following his retirement he worked for the postal service as head of maintenance.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in 1964 and was a member of Bennett Spring Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Alice, of the home; two sons, Colin J. Fonda, of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Austin C. Fonda and his wife, Robin, of Lebanon; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Nathan Fonda, also other family members.
Services for Franklin Clark Fonda will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, in the Cantlon Otterness Funeral Chapel in Buffalo with Pastor T.J. Brown officiating.
Burial with military honors will be held in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sedalia, under the direction of Cantlon Otterness Funeral Home of Buffalo.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon’s Society.
